  • Heads Up - some chilly nights on the way!

Looking particularly chilly for some northern and central areas during the coming week:
weather model gfs - united kingdom - temperature low (2m) [base + 6] - weatheronline
Hover over the figures at the top (hours ahead) to see the minimum temperature. Ground frost is possible in places in the north and there are even some -1s in there for higher ground!

If you have tender plants that you are thinking of moving outside it might be an idea to wait a few days. Similarly, if, like me, you have folded up all your fleece and put it away, it might be worth digging it out again.

I'll certainly not be leaving the chillis out over night then

The rest of it can fend for itself, and if it can't hack a couple of nights of disappointing weather, it has no right to be in a Yorkshireman's garden

Another cold night tonight with a liberal scattering of 1s to 3s and even a zero over the pennines. The temperatures in my garden do seem to be topping those forecast here by 3-4 degrees, but the nights have been mostly cloudy here so far.

These low temperature are obviously caused by global warming
