  • Have you had your seed potatoe orders yet ?

has anybody ordered seed potatoes or onion sets from T+M ?
if so have you had order delivery yet ?

i'm getting itchy to at least start chitting the potatoes (i got first earlies in the ground this time last year) but nothing arrived yet and ordered late December
ordered first, second and maincrop plus onion sets

i have emailed them and reply was to save our customers money on postage we group all together and send out when everything ready.
Am i impatient as i read loads of posts on people chitting already.
holding off from just going to the GC and buying more and finding a use for the ones that will eventually arrive

A friend of mine has ordered onion sets off them and did mention that her white onions arrived last weekend (don't know what variety) but her red ones are still to come so they're clearly not putting everything together regardless of what they say. To be honest I've found T&Ms customer service to be terrible over the years which is why I try not to use them. They once sent me totally different bulbs (ie tulips instead of daffs) and when I complained I was told I had got extras so they couldn't understand why I wanted to return them and was annoyed when they expected me to pay postage.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I ordered mine from tattieman and they came a couple of weeks ago. They're all chitting out on the veg rack as I type! You've got plenty of time, though.

I ordered from them too, they didn't quite seem to understand that the 1st earlies needed to be chitted and planted soon. I just cancelled the order and got them locally for a little more money. Wasn't going to wait another month for them.

I had my T&M ones delivered last week, but didn't have any onion sets from them. I would usually have ordered my spuds from tattieman, but I emailed to ask a question about stock of a certain variety and had no reply, so I just ordered them T&M. Wish I hadn't bothered though, as half the bag of my favourite variety were either mushy or had black patches Back to JBA next year, even if they don't answer their emails, they never send out substandard stock!

I'd not bother e-mailing again if you're not getting any luck, get on the phone to mither them in person.

grrr T&M really are shoddy.....Ditto!...I emailed yesterday and got an email saying "oh hello, blah blah, valued customer, blah blah, reduce delivery costs, blah blah...your potatoes and garlic will be dispatched within the week...oh and a final blah blah about not affecting the quality"...

I fully expect them to be here within the week as EXACTLY the saem thing happened last year and within the week of a mithering email - BINGO - order arrives...

then again the stuff I got from Marshalls last year was spot on and updates were emailed accordingly...

T&M off my xmas card list...

                            S!

I use Marshalls and Suttons amongst others and have to say their customer service is very good. My spuds from Marshalls have been chitting since Mid Jan if fact my first Earlies are in their pots now.
