  • Harvesting winter onions

    Hi all my winter onions have now fallen over,wat do i do next?

    I read about lifting the onions is this just place a fork underneath and ease the onions up.Or do i pull the all up and allow to dry

    mine have done the same. i was told by a experienced guy to take them out (hand fork) and dry on racks

      lots of chaps on my site have pulled them up while the leaves are still green; I'm waiting until the foliage has gone brown & crispy, then I'll be drying them in the sun for a couple of days (I've already eaten quite a few, I just pull them up as needed)

        Mine were so far out of the ground they were easier to pull than an xmas cracker.
