  • Hardening off ends when I start forgetting to bring them back in at night

My poor courgettes and tomatoes. Three nights I remembered to bring them back in, and then a couple of times getting home late and I completely forget about them. It hasn't been too cold, luckily, and they're actually looking quite well. In the case of the tomatoes, better than when they were inside. I supposed I should keep bringing them back inside, but it's reasonably warm most of the coming nights, isn't it? I think we have 8 degrees predicted on one night but otherwise at least 12.

I would be inclined to leave them where they are and be prepared to throw fleece over them should it be necessary.

I forgot to bring in my squash plants one night and they seemed all the better for it tbh. I now just leave them out all the time and they look happier.

      Plants are so fickle!

I'd just leave them out too and be ready with fleece just in case as roilet said.

HAHAHA! Thats exactly what I do too

I'm all fussy and caring...then someone phones or we go out one night and the plants get a taste of how neglectful their life will become!

Don't do it with cucumbers though...they are really unforgiving!

I murdered my aubergines doing that but the toms are all out (and have been for nearly 2 weeks now) and my outdoor Q's are still thriving in their pots with a bell cloche on top.
