  • Had to get the hosepipe out!

I was poking around the garden yesterday and noticed that a number of young plants were looking very dehydrated... either that or they are diseased

We had that horrible cold weather a few weeks ago, but it occured to me we haven't had very much rain at all.

Has anyone else had to water the garden??

Not much rain here in Wolverhampton either but I haven't got anything planted out yet !
Just trays and trays of seedlings.

I dug the front border over this morning and the soil was very dry.

Just the strawberries in pots. Nothing else is planted at the moment.

East Anglia is supposed to be the driest part of the country, but it hasn't been this winter. My lawn and borders are soggy, and not one of the pots has needed watering yet. In fact it rained again this afternoon (just a heavy shower, but just as I was walking back from Asda so I got soaked).

Sorry folks, I was a bit misleading there... I chose this section because I couldn't see anywhere as/more suitable... The plants I refer to are shrubs and such like that have been in position for a year or two.

I'm just 8 miles north of you, and we didn't get more than a spit or two. For a change! It seems like it's rained every day since November.

Been very dry in West London, the horse manure looked very dry until I turned it over and moved some to somewhere else.

Had to move the water butt slightly so took the opportunity to empty it and water everything at the same time.

Don't worry folks I can assure you it will rain soon.

I have resisted the urge to water even with everything drying out. Plenty of rain forecast from Thursday onwards. I am just making the most of the dry weather and getting as many jobs done as possible.
