    Gutted

    Flaming March!...........Haven't had chance to get to lottie since Sunday due to work so went down today after work. Opened the greenhouse door to 35 degrees.............my brassicas were all frazzled. Everything else went in trays of water for a hour. Good job I've got spare seeds.......HM, if you see this, don't bother opening the GH door, I've re-attached the auto vent.......

    The only brassicas I've sown so far are sprouts so you've got loads of time so no worries.

    Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Alison that reminds me some of my sprouts got frazzled and they're not even in the gh .....need to resow

                I didn't even disconnect my auto vent this winter, totally forgot so the window has been opening itself quite happily these past few days which is helpful as even though the greenhouse is only in the back garden I don't heard down there much in the week especially as any spare time at the moment is unfortunately taken up decorating

                          Hard luck BM only consolation its not yet April so plenty of time.

                          I seem able to get wind during any season.

                              I think it also has something to do with the wax inside the piston solidifying in cold temps.

                              Winter-storage:
                              It is recommended that your Univent - or at least the cylinder - is removed from your greenhouse or cold frame for the winter. Store it in a dry place and do not forget to lubricate particularly the piston rod before remounting in the spring. Check that the piston rod moves smoothly.
