Growing stawberries in Spain

Hello,

I have some English strawberry seeds and what to grow them here in Spain. Can anybody provide any advise? Should I start indoors, or go straight outside? Currently its about 20 C during the day and around 9 C in the evening. I do not have much space so was planning on putting the plants into hanging baskets.

Hi.
some years ago when we lived in Lincolnshire my wife bought strawberry seeds from Wilcos in Louth, when they germinated they did not look at all like strawberry s and every day looked more and more like nettles( at that time we had a solid fuel cooker on which I sterilized soil so that was not the problem). Anyhow this year we have had more success with runners (nietos in Spanish) given to me by a Spanish friend and we have picked over the last week.So next year I suggest you find someone who has established strawberry and beg borrow or steal a few runners or alternatively because you only want a fiew buy them from a garden center.
