  • Growing seed potatoes in black sacks? Any hints

Hi everyone, i live in France and we have a huge probem with colorado beetle over here so this year ive decided to plant my seed poatoes (small pink firs for salad) into black sacks so that i can keep a more controlled eye on them instead of having to go through row after row picking the blasted things off!
Ive never tried this method before and the French look at me like Im crazy (which is not unusual!) so no advice there...
    Any Ideas?
    Anyone done this before?
How many to each 80L sack (beariung in mind theyre salad potatoes!)
    Thanks everyone!

Have a look at this thread Aussie http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ers_28513.html some of the info will apply to growing in sacks.
My main tip would be not to put too many per sack, as Pink Fir Apple although a salad potato also come under the Maincrop category and get quite large Keep on top of the watering too, especially when the plants are flowering and from then on as the tubers will be swelling.
Good luck with them, and welcome to the Vine
