  • Growing cima di rapa

I have around 20 of these sown in individual 9cm pots and they are doing fine.. since this is the first time I have grown these and I have never seen the plant I have no idea on what type of yield I would expect from a plant. I have the 60 day variety and growing these for my mum who is from the South of Italy and we cant wait to have them with some orecchiette over the summer (even in Italy you don't see it often), just interested to know how they grow?

Upon our feast of orricchiette al la cima di rapa il post the recipe

    Thanks a lot

I do grow it, but i sow it now for harvest in the spring and reckon to have three plants for two of us. It seems to crop over a short period.
I confess to letting the last few spears flower having removed over a hundred slugs from a single plant one night last week. Blehhh!

Hi, thanks for the reply, 20 should be enough then

I have mine in the greenhouse for now and will be going outside at the end of the month. So after a few crops its worth re sowing i guess?
