After initially feeding my beds with this, I have plenty left over. I'm thinking about grinding some up really fine in an old kenwood grinding mill and disolving it in water to make a liquid feed for the spuds. Good idea, or another load of daftness on my part?

Whilst gromore is a great 7-7-7 general fertiliser I have it in the back of my mind it should not be allowed to come in touch with leaves.
I could well be wrong of course but I would check it out before using it as a drench.Potty by name Potty by nature.

Yes, you are right. I know in the past when I have used it as a top dressing, if I get some of the dust on leaves, it does them in rather quickly. I reckon that if I'm careful, I could water in around the plants without any direct contact. Then again, my middle name is not "careful", so I'd probably be best not trying it!Comment

I suppose you could go to extremes so stop it touching your leaves.
Use a dibber to make a load of holes all over the place and then fill the holes and allow the over run to gently miander (listen out for the sound of twittering birds and violins at this point) over some more soil.
Personally I would make it up for the watering can and just water bits that were relatively leaf safe e.g bottom branches quite high etc.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

The organic version is BFB (Blood, Fish and Bonemeal) which is quite cheap and is already a powder!
I think you'd be better off with a Potassium based liquid feed like Comfrey Tea or a standard high potash tomato fertiliser. Your growmore could then be used the following year in its original form.
