griselle shallots

    Hi Everybody

    I ordered some Shallot griselle from dobies on the 22/6/09 received them on the 3/10/09 but not what I orded.they sent Grisor type saying that due to crop failure unable to supply Shallot Griselle and are offering grisor as a alt
    anybody elsle had this.

    Just joined and found your post. I got the same from Dobies. They've grown really well so far, showing no ill effects from over-wintering. See my blog - address below.

    Odd that if you Google 'Grisor' you get zilch. I wonder why.........

      I had the same happen, but supplied from T&M.
      Similar to richkw they seem to be growing well

        Yep, me too - they've been out in the veg patch since i recieved them and have been subjected to frost, snow, torrential rain and the whole works and are still going strong. No green yet but plenty of roots & bulbs are still firm to the touch. Its my first time growing shallots so i'm not really that fussed so long as they grow as they should.

          These were my Grisor on the 7th. January. (Click the pic to enlarge) They were planted in October and seem to be doing just fine.

                I wish T&M had sent me Grisor, I got Griselle and planted them in October but not one of them has come up

                  Oh, mine have to shoots on them yet - good roots but definately no green. You have me doubting how well they're doing now!

                    I've taken a closer look at the Grisor today and find that the 3 (out of 30) bulbs that had shown no sign of life have now just started to show small green shoots. So, maybe yours will be just fine. I hope so.

                    I'll post an updated picture on my blog over the weekend.
