  • Greenhouse vent openers - how hot?

One of my greenhouse vents is not opening and upon inspection the contents of the piston/ cylinder has leaked.

Does anyone know where I might be able to source a replacement (at a guess the greenhouse is 10+ year old)

    thanks for your help.

    Regards
    Guy

P.S. How hot is too hot for a greenhouse?

        Can't see a name on the 2 I have!
Measure the tube, that would narrow it down!

Do you know what make the vent opener is? Or possibly a photo. I don't have a clue but other more knowledge members may be able to make sense and give you pointers.

You can cool your GH by adding debris netting or old net curtains to the outside it lowers the temp by a few degrees.

If you search "automatic greenhouse" on ebay there are 226 results... perusing the results might help narrow it down?

I would think anything above 35 degrees is too hot. I think mine is set to start opening at 27 degrees.

Yep - my potting shed hit 39.4 on Monday. The two automatic windows don't do enough to bring the temperature down when it's that hot and i forgot to open the door in the morning!
