  • Greenhouse veg for autumn winter?

    Hi All

    I know it is a little early and I havent even moved into my house let alone got my greenhouse yet... but... My friend and I were discussing what we are going to be growing over winter. Now if I get my greenhouse, what sorts of things do people try to grow over winter in it? I know you can do autumn carrots in the greenhouse but that is as far as my knowledge goes at the mo...

    What do others grow if anything over winter in their greenhouses?

    Winter lettuce and corn salad is my usual in my unheated greenhouse.

    I suppose the answer depends on whether you're going to heat the greenhouse or not.

      It depends more on light levels than heat.
      There just isn't enough light in the UK in winter for anything much to actively grow.

      What you can do is use it to over-winter some of your plants (chillies, fuchsias etc) so you can re-plant them come springtime.
