    Greenfly on tomato seedlings.

    Just went out to check on my tomato seedlings that i pricked out at the weekend and noticed they all have a couple of green fly on them. They are currently in the conversatory. Whats the best way to deal with them and where would they have come from? I intend to use the conservatory as a main growing area so do i need to fumigate it all or something? Really don't want to get infested again.

    Any help welcome.

    That's quite surprising that you've acquired greenfly this quickly. Did they have wings? If so they'll be the alates (flying adults) that are looking for new host plants to start a colony.

    Not sure if we're allowed to recommend products on this forum (I just got banned from another for correcting wrong information!!), but I would suggest looking at SB Plant Invigorator (you'll have to google for a supplier) as a safe and effective all rounder for horticultural crop pest control.

      I had some buddliea over wintering in there and that had a lot on it when i put that outside about 3-4 weeks ago so i guess they could of been hanging around???

        Greenfly eggs already on plants will hatch when the time is right, and nymphs are born already pregnant with the next generation - indoor plants are a real magnet for them at this time of year.
        My chillies are infested every few days - just keep squishing them as they appear to control the population (I don't want total annihilation: no aphids means no ladybirds)
