    Hi i have some spud's growing,dont know what type! they seem to have like green tomatoes growiing on the stems.Any advice appreciated thank's.

    I assume you mean on the above ground bits, if so, the green tomato like things are the fruits of the potatoes - they look like tomatoes as they're part of the same family. However, don't eat them, am pretty sure they're poisonous. I picked off my flowers as they appeared to make the plant put more energy into the spuds but am not sure it matters very much.

    Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

    Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

      Hi Stag,
      thats its fruit, you need to pull em off as it can take energy away from your spuds.

      PS the fruit is poisonous, just in case you were thinking off having a nibble.

          Can you use the green spuds as seed potato's next year? or just best to compost them?
