Got greenfly?

Ooh do Dragonflies eat greenfly then? I must "borrow" some from my local lake. there are hundreds down there and my greenhouse clearly needs them more!

Well, I've not seen any since Herbert came to visit! And a few of my chillis had them 2 days ago.

Lots of things eat greenfly....I was thinking of taking a ladybird hostage and bringing it back, and locking it in the greenhouse for a day or two. But, Herbert saved me the bother.

I often put out greenfly-ed plants for a day or two and various insects come along and have lunch on them.....we do live near a canal so it is wildlife crazy round here at the moment.

We've had a red one on the potato plants for the last couple of days, I didn't realise it was having a banquet

Just cos he's wearing blue don't make him a him!

We had some massive dragonflies in our garden a couple of years ago. Haven't seen them for a while now.

Hoping my new flowers will help attract such beneficial wildlife back. Seen some bees recently, but no dragonfly yet.

Ooh I hadn't realised dragonflies ate aphids either. Only makes me love them even more. We have loads around and I'm so glad I rescued one from drowning the other day.

Is it normal that they follow me around and like perching on me?

You lucky things! wish we had dragonflies round here. I haven't seen any ladybirds either.
The only visitors in my greenhouse have been:
-Slugs and snails

-bees

And our resident robin who went in for a nosey the other day

probably hoping for some of the slugs and snails.

I think that is a damselfly, we had one in the kitchen yesterday, had I known they ate aphids he would have been introduced to my broad bean plants!

I've done this!

Well, not quite taken them hostage but did spot a couple climbing around on the window in the kitchen and 'directed' them onto my courgette plants!

The next one I see is going on the tomatoes!

Oh, I didn't know they ate aphids either, there were several hovering around at the lottie yesterday, I wondered what was bringing them, as there's no water close by.
I've got loads of aphids this year, but also lots of ladybirds. There are hundreds 'getting busy' on my globe artichokes.
