  • A good harvest

just thought you might like to see some of the butternutts grow by son,on his plot at lottie, they really put mine to shame,iv'e got his permission to show you,a few have already been eaten
all he does is,every spring buy a shop 1,and sow the seeds almost fresh,1 to a pot in compost, and the odd weeding, this year he spread a load of part composted leaves, complete with worms, around them when they were soil planted,i have to find somewhere to put these as his place has no room, but he does share them ,as you can see from the barrow pic,the frost got the leafes,

I bumper harvest, congrats to your Son. I don't think I've ever seen that many squashes apart from in the supermarket.

How much room do they take up? I suspect I wouldn't have room for much else if I grew that many!

Thank you peeps,we had a supprise ourselfes,we think the leaf's made that bit of difference, and the only water they got was in the first settling in the growing station, the leafes must have kept the moisture in,so next year am going to collect it to,we get it delivered to the site for free,
Two sheds...he grows ok spuds as well, is still finding his way,bit at a time,
Flummery we both have 2 plots each, not next to each other,we have aprox 40 ft x 130 ish each,of growing space, what you see in the first pic,is a small bit of it,
