  • Gone off the boil- help!

and not been to the lottie for a month or so now.

How can I get my mojo back? It all needs digging over and so on... I just haven't done it!!!

It doesn't need digging. Just cover it in Horse Poo, then cardboard, and it'll be fine until you have the time and inclination to do more. One bed at a time, that's all we do. Are you north or south of the County?

Bite the bullet. Because if you don't do some now, you've only got double the work in the Spring. Little and often. Buy the new GYO or some garlic to plant, then you will have inspiration.

I was struggling to get into it this time last year but I find looking at pics/videos of allotments is great motivation.

Beth - why are you digging? If it's to get weeds out then great - but otherwise, just pile cardboard on, and plant through in the spring.

What are you looking forward to growing next year?

I don't do either of those

Cover in green manure or crops (or non-growing mulches like cardboard to prevent erosion, desertification etc)

If I find myself struggling to make an impression, instead of digging a whole row, I'll do a square yard at a time. Before you know it, you'll have covered a fair bit of ground. Little and often to start with though Missus.

That's what I do, cos my back don't like it if I do too much! but I get it all done by spring with no problem
It's the seed catalogues that inspire me, with all the lurvely stuff I'm going to grow..even if I still haven't worked out where I'm going to plant, sorry cram it all in
