Love the "onion bed" photo, Dan! Good luck with your giant veg, but I think I'll stick to baby ones for the kitchen

Nice one Dan! Can I say you remind me of Desperate Dan the comic strip hero judging by your avatar! (Minus the Cow Pie of course!)

Dan, I'm trying some Kelsae this year too after seeing your blog last year! Planted the seed on 31st Dec and just put them in the allotment on 31st March. No special care like lights etc. just planted them in modules, thinned them into root trainers then put them out. Watch this space!

        Good luck with yours.

Just brilliant VegmanDan - blog and vegetables.
I'll be interested to see how the mini bed gets on.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

An interesting read! It also makes me feel a bit better about the lumpy unimpressive size produce I usually get when I see the amazing effort you go to for those exhibition sized pieces! Good for you for doing it, but man, it looks like work.

Is it just blokes who always want to grow the biggest veg?
good idea with the ladder, I would never have thought of that.
And good luck with the onions.

Nope, I am keen to try getting a big pumpkin this year. But it's getting organised for it first. I don't want to have something so small that it's embarrassing to put up against the others!
