  • Gherkin Piccolo Di Parigi height

    Hi

Does anyone know what height Piccolo Di Parigi gherkin plants will get to? I thought gherkins grew quite tall but have just seen a comment saying they are quite a small plant, so am now confused.

Has anyone had experience with them

Cheers in advance for any help

First I'll say hello and welcome to the vine Ethaab

I've had a look on google and there doesn't seem to be much info it only comes up with can be grown up trellises or left to trail. Hopefully someone will come along soon who's grown the plant.
    Location....East Midlands.

Thanks for the welcome, long time since I've used a forum. Hopefully will get a lot of info and help...

I'll just have to wait and see how the gherkins grow, looks like the ones in the greenhouse have decided they're going to make a run for the roof over the last couple of days, where as the ones outside are a bit slower but that's expected and may catch up, you never know. That's if the sun comes out for longer than a couple of hours during the summer.

Cheers for your answers I'll post back with updates for anyone who may want to grow these in the future.

If anybody knows, please let us know, I'm growing them for the first time and assumed they would be quite vigorous (why I don't know ) so, if I've given them too much space, I can squeeze something else in!

Hi Etha and welcome to the Forum

I'm growing them for the first time too http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ers_88348.html
They're still in modules and not big enough to pot on - so I'm waiting for someone to advise on size too

First time here too. Mine are outside and so far just over a foot high. They're optimistically being grown against an arch.

                Hi

Just a quick update. The 2 in the greenhouse have doubled in size since I originally posted which makes me think they are vigorous growers and the comment I read about them being small was rubbish. The 2 outside down the allotment are about 20" tall now but were planted out a couple of weeks after the ones in the green house.

Here's a picture of those in the greenhouse taken this morning They are sharing the pot with cucmelons

                Cheers

Wow they look great! All of my cucumbers and my cucamelons are stubbornly refusing to grow!
