  • Get ya chilli plants out!

For all the chilli growers, want to share pics of what you have been growing? I've got some nice Jalapeno peppers growing and some unknown (didn't label, dur). Some have been outside since May and a couple other were dumped outside in April, they are not in the best of condition but they will live... in fact, the ones that are really small and were out in April actually have around 40+ flowers on them!

The last one isn't too clear and I am not sure what it is, looks a tad like a Jal but really not sure as most on that plant have a two or more rounded points on the bottom of the pepper.

    Hi Herby
I only have Cayenne peppers this year - the Jalapeno and Scotch Bonnets failed miserably at germinating
I'm going back out to the tunnel in a mo to tie up my cukes and toms - will take a couple of piccies and post them when I get home - about 10-ish at the latest.

I've got some like that, but I doubt yours are the same as mine unless I swapped seeds with you?

would love to post a pic but we've only got flowers & flower buds at the mo... our chillis took a battering from a rogue starling that got into our house while we were on holiday so have spent some growing time recuperating (excuse spelling!) we'll hopefully have chilli peppers & scotch bonnet

I've been picking chocolate habeneros, hot lemons, scotch bonnet, purple jalapenos and numex twilight for several weeks now, as well as orange and red ripe sweet peppers. They are all on the kitchen window sill, and have done marvellously well. I have 'garlands' of chillies hanging in my kitchen to dry. I am saving the seeds from the ones I have used, and as they have all been hand pollinated they should come true to type, so I'll be able to swap some next year. Interestingly, the choc habeneros and scotch bonnet have very few seeds compared to the others.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Same as kerryp, just flowers and buds at the mo. After just cleaning out the garage this weekend I finally found the aji seeds I brought back from our last visit to Peru last year..............too late now though......aji amarillo, rocoto, aji panca, so all I've got are shop bought chilli seedlings which are pretty slow at the mo
