I thought that my garlic had just been battered by the gales we had a few weeks ago, but now I'm begining to wonder if it's ready for lifting. I planted it in October. It looks very sad, the leaves are changing colour and begining to lie down. There look to be some decent size bulbs, what do you reckon? (getting quite excited here)

I pulled some of mine yesterday! The solent wight and the shop bought stuff has done really well. The cloves I got from unwins are pretty dissapointing thoughWPC F Hobbit, Shire police

My september sown garlic marco got flattened too and i lifted them yesterday to find some wonderful sized bulbs! im chuffed to lil mintballs with them

I lifted one of mine but the bulb was quite small, they are however still growing strong despite a case of rust. So will leave them a while longer yet.

I thought I would have a look at my garlic the leaves had started to turn yellow so I had a furkle around a bulb and found it had split so I thought I better have this lot out before they start growing again, the solent white have produce some fantastic bulbs the purple wight are just normal sized but a good crop over all.Comment

Marco....planted about the same time as you but I haven't lifted mine yet apart from one! It was a reasonable size but hadn't appeared to have split into individual cloves. On cutting open, the cloves were there, but it probably needs a few more weeks to mature?

I expect me being down south have brought mine on a bit faster Snager. I had a few small bulbs too, but even they had split well.
