  • Garlic and Shallots - am I too late?

I've just found a bag of shallots sets and some elephant garlic and normal garlic that I bought to plant this year and forgot about. Am I too late to plant these now and get a crop this year?

My onions and shallots are going in this weekend!
Garlic....pop it in the fridge for a few days before you plant it out...it needs the chill to encourage it to split later on.
    - might not gbet as big as it could- but it'll still taste yummy!

Fantastic Nicos, thanks for that. It's the first time I've ever tried growing these so I'm a bit vague as to what I should be doing. I'll give the garlic tip a try too.

I would agree - shallots should be fine, garlic might not split into cloves but it's better in the ground than going to waste
