  • Garlic - has anyone grown Thermidrome, Germidour or Flavor

    We are growing in France and our local garden centre/nursery always sell stuff that grows really well in our area. They have these three varieties of garlic for Autumn planting:

    Germidour;
    Thermidrome;
    Flavor.

    I was wondering if anyone had experience with these. Do they grow well, good disease resistance, flavour?

    Thanks in advance!

    Grown Germidour in sunny Suffolk and it grew reasonably well, not huge bulbs, but satisfactory. Might be more suited to your neck of the woods. Also grown another French variety Messidrome which stored well and I was still using after Christmas

      I usually grow Germidor. It has a good resistance to cold although not needed these last two winters it things may change! Usually groups reasonably well.

          I grow Thermidrome as one of my two kinds. It grows just fine. Gets rust of course but then they all do.
