  • Freecycle finally came good!

I've had a 'wanted' ad on freecycle for a few weeks now and finally I received a reply, so I will be going out shortly to collect a compost bin *yay* but the best bit is...he lives so close by that I can walk to collect it and be back home within ten minutes.
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

Last week I picked up 1 dalek and 2 original organics composters [the hooge ones] and the same evening, a grapevine that is about 4 years old and growing well.

    What a great evening!

It's all for the schools [I have one in the boot as we speak] and will get that one set up tomorrow.

        Ooo fab.
I think my OH would have a fit if I asked him to put a used compost bin in his car!
        :-)

I had 3 in at once that night. Quite a tight fit! One on the back seat [dalek] and the other two in the boot [they are quite flexible so managed to squeeze them in]. Grapevine on the seat next to the dalek.

The lady donating the 3 compost bins couldn't quite believe I got them all into one car.

              Mmmmmmm.

Vehicle that is larger on the inside than it looks like from outside + Daleks.

Do you travel in time as well?

Sounds like those old jokes about how many elephants can you get in a Mini?

Congratulations 'Snips. Freecycle's great as long as you have the patience to wait for stuff to turn up.

Well it actually took about five minutes to collect and return with it. The front 'hatch' is missing but an old flexitub can be modified to serve that role.

I'm still looking for one of those big blue storage drums with a screw-on lid which I would like to modify into a rotating composter, but at least I have something to be using in the meantime.

My goodness...leaf bin, compost bin, water butt...I do believe I'm turning into one of them there gardenists.

Good day yesterday. Collected second lot from lovely Freecycle lady who is moving house. She said she'd call me if they sort any more out!!

All this went in the back of my car.

                      *At least 8 growbag/gravel trays
*Loads of terracotta pots (a couple of large patio ones with raspberry canes in)
*Wire supports for canes/tomatoes in growbags
*9 growpots to plant toms in growbags
*Loads of shelving from blowaways (might make mini wire cloches for seedlings if I dont find a way of making more shelving)
                      *Canes
*Metal trough thingy to fix to front of house
                      *Hanging baskets
*Hoselock Aquapod thingies (must find out how these work)
                      * Loads and loads of bits and bobs
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.
