Has everyone harvested their's yet? Was just curious as to what you thought of the taste / yield?

Not harvested ours yet, but we were late planting them out. Might try the ones that we put in a container first. Be interested to know what others thought of them.

And a heaven in a wild flower -
I had some tonight, with some lady crystl to compare. The yield from each root was similar, but I preferred the taste of lady crystl. Vales emerald seemed a bit floury too, although the spuds were smaller than lady crystl.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.

lifted all ours because the slugs/snails had stripped the tops completely. Yields wern't spectacular but I guess it's hard to produce spuds with no leaves to feed them. They seemed fairly solid to me and I didn't find them floury. Nice flavourComment

I wasn't too impressed with the flavour to be honest, found them a bit tasteless although the yield was ok. My parents who also grew them thought the same.Comment

Just 'dug' the two spuds planted in a large recycling box in mid-March. Like SMS6's the tops had been half stripped by snails/slugs. Underwhelmed by the quantity - about 14 small/medium sized spuds, the box wasn't 'full' like last years attempt.

As salad spuds they taste pretty ordinary, they're far too floury and break up easily as well.
