  • 'Free' seeds?

Sorry to butt in, but have just seen a couple of sort-of free offers in the Telegraph:

"Every Telegraph reader who requests a Plant World catalogue will receive 2 free packs of seed: Tom. 'Sweet Pea Currant' and 'Blondkopfchen'. Send 4 x 1st class stamps to Telegraph Gardening Tomatoes, Plant World Gardens, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4SE "

"For a copy of the Which? GYO guide and a free packet of Basil and Mizuna seeds, call 0800 389 88 55 and quote VEG44F"

They could be of interest to someone, although I've only just managed to stop getting junk mail from Which after about 20 years!!

Please mods, feel free to move this if I've put it in the wrong place!!

I go the tomato offer last year, though had to wait at least 6 weeks as they were inundated with applications. The Sweet Pea Currant did well and can even be grown in a large hanging basket as it has a good trailing habit. Loads of tiny toms the size of a redcurrant. Grows like bunches of grapes.

Didn't have much luck with the Blondkopfchen. Fruit was the size of a large cherry, a bit bland, but I'm having another go this year. The catalogue was interesting with unusual veg and tomatoes.
