  • Free Beer tip..

I thought that might get your attention....
As the landlady of a pub specialising in real ale, I know that most pubs have quite a bit of 'ullage' every week - beer wasted due to pipe cleaning, drip trays etc... Why not ask your local landlord/landlady if they would save it for you to make beer traps for slugs? If you buy a pint while you are asking, I'm sure you'll get a positive response!

Does that stuff not get put back in the barrel (usually hidden in barrels of mild).

Or is that just a London thing
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

I could pull a lovely pint of Boddies (or so I was told!) when working in a Manchester pub during my college days and I'm sure the rubbish was measured in a jug and then tipped down the sink.

More of a wine drinker myself, but the beer drinkers of the Vine must all be horrified!

On the other hand, that was a great thread title, it got us all going straight into the thread.
