  • Flowers on my tomatoes

I planted my tomatoes really early and the plants are now about 30" tall and have flowers. Seems ridiculously early for them to have flowers. Should I pinch them off?
    Thanks for the advice.

I have flowers on my early sown ones, early flowers means early fruit - that's why I sowed them early

They look as if they could do with bigger pots, though.

I have fruit on mine - pea sized ones from the first flowers on the January sown ones and rather bigger ones, one of which is going red, on my overwintered ones. No point in pinching out the flowers, but you may need to pinch out the tops and sideshoots if they are getting too tall. You can put these into either a pot of compost or a glass of water to root and make new plants - tomatoes root really easily.

My house tomatoes grow in 7 or 8 inch pots and produce plenty of fruit providing they are fed occasionally.
