  • Fleece tunnel at this time of year?

    Hiya

I am eager to get my Nantes carrots out when it's not quite so wet, but I was wondering what people preferred: fleece or poly? I've picked up an £8 fleece tunnel from Wilko's but I don't know if I should exchange it for a poly one for protecting the carrots when they do go out.

    Which do you prefer?

Poly tunnel cloches are good for warming up the soil but i prefer the fleece type as you can water without having to lift it up and is good for keeping the dreaded carrot fly away if you draw the soil up around the bottom...!

Fleece lets the air in as well - no need to ventilate!
Jiving on down to the beach to see the blue and the gray, seems to be all and it's rosy-it's a beautiful day!

I've had some Early Nantes growing in a container over winter with fleece on them. Not used it before, but over the moon with the way the carrots have grown. Reckon I'll have a small crop by the end of March.
