  • Fish tank on the window sill?..........

I have an old fish tank that has a cover and a strip light in the cover. Thinking about putting it on the window sill in the back bedroom, which is quite wide, and putting my toms, peppers and cukes in it to stop them getting drawn too much!
If I was really ambitious I could line three sides with tinfoil to increase light and put a timer on it to try and fool the plants into thinking its NOT February!

    What ya think?

If you go to the pet shop you can get a tube designed for growing plants

You may have to be careful with the watering. There aren't any drain holes in an aquarium (usually).

The plants are still in pots.......I just thought it may deter legginess?

You would be better off using a white surface than foil.

Apparently the crinkles in foil can create hot spots so unless you can get it completely flat you might be better off with something like white card or painted board.

Must have missed that one steve! I'll deffo give it a go once I've dug fish tank out from its storage place in the garage!

Should be ok as I won't be relying solely on its strip light if I place it on the window sill.
