  • First time with onions - help!

This is the first year I have sown onion seed and have had quite successful germinations with the three types I want to grow.
I just don't know what to do with them now - should I pot them up from the rather crowded modules into larger pots or can they go out yet They are starting to look as if they need something to happen to them, and I don't want to lose them.

Yes - just give an hour or two for my son to get up and tell me how to do it

      I'll get my camera.....

Ours are about 3-4" high and (maybe) a couple of millimetres thick - they're going into the raised beds today!

Yours look thinner and of course you're farther north.

                Yup; much farther north.

Plus I donated the older fatter ones to the schools I'm working with. Cos I'm nice like that

My Feb sowings are so thin and weedy they look more like anorexic grass. Several have died during the hardening off period on the back step (I think the sun frightened them)

The ones I sowed in March outside took longer to germinate, but are looking much stronger and healthier. Note to self.
