  • First ripe tomato

The first of my 100s and 1000s tomatoes has ripened fully today! That must be some sort of record - it is for me anyway.

    Why doesn't the HTML work?

Realise I should have put this in the early tomato thread - sorry! Took a sleeping pill last night and am still a bit foggy.

At the beginning of Feb. They started life on a sunny windowsill then migrated to the conservatory when big enough. We have had a lot of sunny days, even when it was cold, so they have had plenty of light from the word go.

I've only just seen the first flowers on a couple of mine and to be honest most of the plants are looking very sorry for themselves!!

I only have 2 small green ones so far. I must say that my toms are keeping me excited while the rest of my stuff catches up. Can't wait to taste my homegrowns for the first time.

We had half each today - the flavour was outstanding. I'll certainly be growing these again!
