Yipeee. Today I harvested the first new potatoes of the year and the taste was fantastic. Beats Jersey Royals at £3 a kilo in the supermarkets.

I decided a couple of years ago that I was wasting greenhouse space by having nothing much in it before the tomatoes, peppers, etc. were ready so now I get an early start on the spuds by putting in about thirty in assorted containers.

This lot were planted 19th Feb. I have a south-facing lean to greenhouse which is unheated but is attached to the house so gets some heat from there.
