  • Feeding sprouts?

n00b question but should I be feeding my sprouts? Took a peek at the weekend and they are still very small, about pea sized. They've been kinda neglected since I took everything else out of my raised beds. Will they be edible come Xmas?

I don't bother feeding them. Maybe a pinch of Blood Fish & Bone at planting time if I remember.

When did you plant them? I've been picking mine for a fortnight now.

I've got the red ones (think you have Two Sheds) and I'm not right impressed. Mind you, it's the caterpillars, not the sprouts to blame.

Wellington variety grown from seeds. Will have to check my log book for planting dates.

Most of the caterpillars I had stripped the leaves off the parsnips and seemed to leave my sprouts alone.

I am correct in pulling off the yellow leaves?

yes, pull off the yellow leaves to reduce the chances of slugs and bugs hiding in them. Chuck them on the compost.

Sprouts take around 32 weeks from planting to cropping. I sow mine in April.
