  • epsom salts as spray fertiliser

I have been reading up on tips for growing chillies, in preparation for next year

I read that mixing a couple of tablespoon fulls of Epsom salt, mixed with water in a spray bottle, is very good when sprayed over the foliage

Has anybody ever done this? And if so, how exactly does this enhance good plant growth/health?

    Cheers

Yep,used that method on sweet peppers, tomatos & beans, used direct on foliage it is a good way of overcoming magnesium deficiency

Me too, it was funny when I asked for it at the chemist and was told there are other alternatives for constipation these days.

ahh great, I will order some in then!!! From what stage should it be used? Seedling onwards? Or during flowering etc?

Any yellowing of the leaf edge or after flowering (whichever comes first) is what I have been doing once a week seems to be enough for foliar feed, you could also put a ring around the stem & gently water in once or twice during the season if you prefer
