If you put garlic offcuts in with Rhubab leaves in water and allow to stew, the mix can be used to stop Cabbage white fly and butterflies from afflicting your brassicas, this will have to be re-applied after heavy rain. You can watch the butterflies land, sniff and then go elsewhere to lay eggs.
Old fellow on lotty told me this and saw it on TV long time ago, have tried it and works for me.
