Wow, Pies, that's fabulous! You have twenty more of those beauties? Lucky you. I planted 4 elephant garlics, but only two came to anything - and then got strimmed in error by my OH! Survived though, thank goodness. Do you think you'll be able to save some to plant next year? The price of the cloves always puts me off...

They look lovely, well done. I didn't bother this year, just did the normal garlic. My elephant garlic last year was just like a giant spring onion, it didn't split into cloves.Granny on the Game in SheffieldComment

ive worked out elephant garlic needs planting in September as it puts down alot of root mass before it shoots also if the cloves are small it wont split but will form rounds. These rounds can be eaten or replanted to give a very large bulb next year
I started of with buying two cloves but got supplied four.I replanted everything last year and got a 21 plants ill replant the best and eat the rest
