does anyone have any info on the effect of rats in a veg. plot-- do any germs get "into" the plants from the soil. i ask, because the area where it would be best to plant is close to my chicken, where i saw rats last year- i think i have now got rid of them all, havent seen any there since last autumn, but am baulking at siting the plot there, in case of health risks. what are your opinions? ( also, the soil which i want to use to fill my raised bed, will be coming from the same area)
