The broad beans I planted out in October are now flowering! What do you think will happen? I don't think they need pollinators - or do they? Bets on that they will produce pods before Feb?

If they're the over wintering type then they are totally hardy but they won't produce fruit from flowers at this time of year as they do indeed need to be pollinated and any old bee won't do, it has to be one with a long tongue! You could do it yourself with a paint brush but I wouldn't hold my breath at this time of year. Mine are only about 4" high so not a worry thankfully.

Mine are also flowering. Me thinks i'll just wait and see, if these don't bear fruit in spring, then i'm sure they'll flower again.
