  • eating swede leaves?

    has anyone ever eaten swede leaves or is it not advised ?
    ive got some growing in the tunnel and the leaves look really tender so any advise will be welcomed

    Not sure about swedes but I think turnips can be grown overwinter for their leaves - eaten as spring greens. Both belong to the brassica family, and most brassicas are grown for their leaves!

      Swede tops are my brown hens favourite brassica..............so there must be something flavourful about them...........to a chook anyway!

        I often chop the central leaves off a swede into stews. They taste swede-ish, the mid-ribs are quite fleshy, the outer edge more cabbagey. Nice
