  • Droppy chillies

oh I say - this is my first post for years and years
    *shy

I've several pots of chillies in the greenhouse, all of which have yellowish droppy leaves. Any thoughts on what's up with them?

They could be hungry. if you're using peat-free compost, there's little or no nutrient in it, so they have to be fed every watering. Lack of water could be another problem. Can you post any pics? they may give a better idea as to what's wrong.

Sounds like they've used up their nutrients piskie. They may need potting up or as Norm says feeding, depending what you are growing them in. I doubt it's lack of water, that would cause them to droop but not to go yellow. Good luck

I would say not warm enough to grow properly. They're obviously in a "blowaway" and may be getting a bit cold at night.

Hum, they are in a 'proper' greenhouse which I admit to having left the door open for a few nights - but I'll check that out

I'd agree with everyone so far. Looks like they need a bit more warmth (I've still got my 'hot' Chilli's indoors it's that bloody cold at the moment) but also a good feed as well to green the leaves up as well.

Have they been hardened off properly? Even going to a greenhouse you need to do that and it's been cold nights down here, my unheated greenhouse, still gets down to 2 or 3c.

Other than that, have they been overwatered?

If they are like that with damp soil, I'd let the soil dry out a fair amount and dunk them in a seaweed feed for a few hours.

If the soil is dry already, seaweed feed them and let start a proper feeding regime - or try repotting some and see if that perks them up.

Maybe in need of a good feed have mine in peet compost cos with out I find they dry up very quick and then it's a pain to get it wet again all the way though
