Funnily enough was thinking earlier that I need to buy my onion sets, had a very good crop off senshyu this last year so am planting them again. Have also got some from seed but want sets as a back up as I seem to struggle on seeds when they are overwintered, especially if the winter is like the last two.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Got some onion sets from Wilkinsons, also some garlic. Never had much success with garlic but determined to try again. Leeks are in, as are PSB. May get some Senshyu sets as well (QD had them) - hope I have enough room.

Forgot to mention I bought garlic as well.

Like you it's a bit hitty missy for me, but I think i had one decent crop about 8 years ago, just i can't remember what was different about THAT years planting.

When's the latest they can go in? Am moving house in the next week and things are a bit hectic! Love planting Autumn sets but it'll probably be mid-Oct at least!

Mid October is ideal in the south.

I've got leeks, swedes, kale, savoy cabbage, and brussels sprouts in the ground already, and spring cabbages to plant. Waiting for onion sets of Shakespeare, Senshyu and Electric and Garlics Messidrome, Picardy Wight, Wight Cristo, Iberian Wight and Albigensian Wight to arrive. Really excited about trying the new varieties of garlic - I've had Cristo and Albigensian before and they've done well
