  • Do I pull the kelsae onions up?

    Evening all.

I have just checked on my Kelsaes.

I noticed a few of them have started going 'soft and brown' at the base of the bulb. I am guessing this is bad!?

I pulled one up as it was particularly bad. It even smelt like it was rotting, so I binned it!

We have a load of rain due tomorrow, and then I am on holiday for 2 weeks.

Question is - Should I pull them all up now, whilst they can probably be saved?

Are you growing for showing? Have you had any problems with white rot before?

not growing for show, just for the challenge.

I also grew kelsae last year, never had any problems....

Update - Made the decision to pull them all. I'd be right gutted if they all went fungal whilst I am on holiday.

See pics. I smashed last years record of 4lb 4oz, so dead chuffed!!!!!!!
