  • Darlek lid on or off??

Ok, my darlek is now full of weeds(I have 3 other compost bins for other such material) and I was wondering should I leave the lid off for airflow or keep it on for heat conservation?

    Thanks

I usually keep the lid on.
Except if it rains I occasionally allow the stuff to get wet.
Also I usually transfer stuff across them

As Jimmy said but keep it moist & keep turning it.

... which is probably the reason why mine isn't doing anything - just hosting loads of earwigs!

i'll give it a real good watering later.

I water mine regularly. The bloke next door thinks I'm barmy. He thinks I'm expecting it to grow!

Mine are really rotting down quickly in this heat (each one is watered when I refill it)

Lid on, definitely, otherwise they don't heat up
