I would have loved to come along VC, but I'll only be 4 days post op by then and unable to use my hands still, its on a Sunday isn't it?. Shame its not a week later I'd have been there in a shot....

Its actually on Saturday, 1st June - they're using a Welsh Calendar

You could come along and watch, but I'm not wiping your backside for you

Some good courses coming out on that website - and a lot of them are free

One to keep an eye on!

I've just been reading the Coed Hills website about Hugelkultur beds, I didn't know what that meant before, but I can see how handy it would be in a forest garden.

I think the same course is on, on the Sunday but at the NBGW not Coed Hills

I've asked for clarification

I hope that whichever of your DD or OH wins (loses), they win with paper, as the others could be a tad painful

I don't think it'll matter either way, they are planning on starving me so I don't need to go at all....

Yes the sunday course is in the botanical gardens. Run by the same folk I believe

Veggiechicken, with the amount of veggie experiments you've got going on at the mo, I'm not surprised you've got a varied selection of fungi to get your teeth into!

Snadger, my fungi growing experiments have been complete failures.

Three carefully sourced oak logs, each one drilled with about 20 holes, stuffed with some impregnated dowel, sealed with wax and, about 6 years down the line, I'm still waiting for my first taste of Lion's Mane, Shitake or Oyster mushrooms. I'm not convinced about those dowels but maybe, if I learn a new technique...........

They're not looking too good after 2 weeks without water in the GH

I don't think they have a future
