    Hi all, first time on here so be gentle !
    I'm growing cucumbers for the first time this year, i'm growing Marketmore.
    Is it necessary to pick off all the male flowers, i've heard that you have to,to stop the fruit tasting bitter ?

    Hi,I 'm a newbie to all veg and have grown these for the first time too. They are an outdoor cuc so you don't need to remove the males. Got this from another grapeviner! Have my first cucs now! The skin is quite tough, and they are yellowish, but tasty. Think I picked mine a little early? Read somewhere youy should remove the first fruit to get a better crop, I didn't do this! I'm a novice, so any more advice is welcome!

      Jacky, when you say you're supposed to remove the first fruit for a better crop, do you mean once the get to a reasonable size or when they are still teeny (<2cm)?
