I dont think its too late - what have you got to lose may as well give it a go.
Burpless Green and Gerkins for me. -
Mine cucumber seed (burpless) went staight in the soil last weekend, don't have great expectation but then i will be all the more happy if they come up.
Growing gerkins aswell (first time) but they are happily shooting in bog rolls indoors

Can't remember the type, but they are outdoor ones at present still on the bedroom windowsill. They are my second attempt - I was far too early sowing in February and although I got good speedy germination, they legged it!Granny on the Game in SheffieldComment

I'm growing Tiffany in the greenhouse, marketmore and greenfingers outside. I only put the seeds in a couple of weeks ago, but with a bit of heat they were through in 3 days, and are now getting their second leaves. I planted my courgettes at the same time.
I'm later on the greenhouse cukes ones this year, but should still see a worthwhile cropping time hopefully.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.
