    Cucumbers in container advice please

    Hi
    I have a bit of a dilemma. I have 4 cucumber plants but only 2 fourteen inch containers, I have no room for any more. I want to grow the cucumbers up canes and wondered if it would be possible to grow 2 cucumbers in 1 pot?

      14" container does not seem very big to put 2 cucumber plants in, It would, I think. be better to grow two plants in the two containers and get a decent crop from them than try to grow the 4 plants badly and have a reduced harvest. Just my opinion.

        I grow 3 in a 2 1/2 ft trough if thats any help , I have always done this and they grow fine . I still get a good crop .

        It has two chances , up or down.

          What kind of cucumbers are you going to grow?

          14" containers with 2 plants is too small for normal cucumbers, but are fine for smaller container variety cucumbers.

              I grow one in about a 10" pot and 2 plants gives us more than enough cucs for the year and I always end up giving some away so I'd go for 1 in each of the pots and leave it as that. Remember, you don't have to plant everything - have to keep telling myself that!

              Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

              Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                Hi thanks for all the advice. I am now down to 3 as one has collapsed and died. They came from the gc as my seeds didn't germinate. Two of them just say F1 all female and appear to be standard size, the other one is a mini cucumber F1 Zeina. I bought 4 because I inevitably end up losing some. It may be that I will lose another and then the problem solves itself but if all 3 survive, I hate throwing healthy plants out.
