    Crystal Apple or Lemon cucumbers

    Hello, i've got one of these plants that is ready to go into the ground. Should i be trailing it up some kind of stage? Or, should i be cutting off the growing tip/head so it grows outward and bushy - as a friend has told me to?

    Or should i just leave it alone and leave to its own devices? Any advice gratefully received - cannot find the answer to this on any of the other threads!

    I'm not growing them this year but in the past have always trained them up a bamboo pole and then supported them on wires connected to a fence. That way the fruit are off the ground and you get plenty of light to all the plant. I wouldn't cut off the growing head.

    Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

    Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

      I grew them last year and trained them up canes, however, they would have done better if supported on wires as Alison has done.
